“If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” After a 30 year career in information systems executive search, sales and training, this finally applies to David Furlong.

A full-time musician and performer in the 70’s and 80’s, David was a founding member of the acoustic band, Three Legged Horse, logging 200 gigs per year for 10 years in clubs, coffee houses and college concerts. He continued to play and perform in Rhode Island cover rock bands including Relappse and New York Minute while building a career, raising a family and putting children through college. That sense of commitment is now focused again on music with the establishment of The Music Room, a private recording studio with David as engineer, producer, songwriter and performer.

Between sessions in The Music Room studio, David swims a minimum of a mile daily at the University of Rhode Island. A former marathon and 5K runner, David plans to return to the roads now that he has time to train. “I don’t fit the image of one who is retired. Freedom and commitment: that’s more like it.”
